Communication plays a central role in human society, and even simple greetings such as “hello” have important social meanings. In sociology, greetings are viewed as forms of social interaction that help individuals establish relationships, show respect, and maintain social order. This article examines the sociological importance of the word “hello,” discussing its functions in everyday communication, cultural significance, and role in social cohesion. The paper argues that greetings are not merely polite expressions but essential elements of social life that contribute to identity, cooperation, and emotional connection.References
