Sudden cardiac death syndrome is a severe clinical and pathological condition characterized by an unexpected cessation of cardiac activity. This article provides a detailed analysis of the etiology, pathogenesis, electrical and hemodynamic disturbances of the heart, genetic factors, and pathological anatomical changes associated with the syndrome. Particular attention is given to cardiac arrhythmias, myocardial pathology, coronary circulation disorders, ion channel dysfunction, and metabolic abnormalities involved in the development of sudden cardiac death. The importance of modern diagnostic and preventive methods is also discussed.
