Abstract

This article analyzes the semantic features of phrases in the Uzbek language with the component “do‘ppi”. The study highlights the phraseological units in which the lexeme “do‘ppi” participates, their layers of meaning, the level of imagery, and their role in reflecting the national and cultural views of the people. Also, the factors of formation of these phrases, the features of their use in a figurative sense, and their functional and semantic functions in speech are analyzed based on examples. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that phrases with the “do‘ppi” component are one of the important indicators of the ethnocultural values, worldview, and linguistic thinking of the Uzbek people.
