This text analyzes the essence of the concept of conflict in literary and artistic works, its types, and the specific features of its manifestation in modernist literature. It examines the differences between internal and external conflict and explains the role of psychological, social, ideological, and modernist forms of conflict in the structure of a literary work. It also substantiates the importance of conflict in the development of plot, composition, character creation, and artistic expressiveness. In modernist works, conflict is shown through features such as fragmentation, distortion of time and space, stream of consciousness, and open-endedness. The manifestation of conflict in mini-novels as a condensed and concentrated form is also analyzed.References
