Abstract

Adjectives play an essential role in the English language because they describe, modify, and provide additional information about nouns and pronouns. Proper use of adjectives makes communication more vivid, precise, and meaningful. One of the most important grammatical aspects of adjectives is their order in a sentence. In English, when more than one adjective is used before a noun, they generally follow a specific sequence. Native speakers naturally follow this order, while language learners often find it difficult. This article discusses the definition, types, functions, and grammatical characteristics of adjectives, with special attention to adjective order in English sentences. The paper also explains the common adjective order rule with examples and analyses the importance of adjective placement in effective communication.
