This article analyzes verbs followed by the infinitive form in English. Several types of verbs, including catenative verbs, perception verbs, causative verbs, and quasi-modal verbs, are examined in order to determine under which conditions they take the to-infinitive or the bare infinitive. In addition, the negative and interrogative forms of these verbs, as well as subject-control and raising constructions and passive infinitives, are discussed. The most frequently occurring constructions are systematized in tables and diagrams, usually based on approximate corpus samples. Through examples and exercises, the topic is illustrated together with their Uzbek translations.Downloads
