Abstrak

This article focuses on the teaching of the mother tongue in primary school. It analyzes the importance of the native language as a key tool for self-awareness, national identity, and the development of students' thinking. Effective methods and approaches for teaching the mother tongue in modern conditions are also discussed. The article concludes with recommendations for teachers.
