HISTORY AND CURRENT STATE OF THE PROBLEM IN LINGUODIDACTICS AND RHETORIC

Abstract
The article explores both the historical background and the contemporary state of linguodidactics and rhetoric as scholarly disciplines. Particular attention is devoted to the stages of the institutionalization of linguodidactics and the contributions of international scholars to the development of language teaching theory. The revival of rhetoric in the twentieth century is examined, along with its transformation from a classical discipline of oratory into a modern interdisciplinary field that encompasses political, academic, media, and everyday discourse. Special emphasis is placed on current challenges arising from the digitalization of education, which demand new methodological frameworks and pedagogical solutions.
