Abstract

This article highlights several directions for integrating environmental education with general education by harmonizing ecological knowledge with national values and local environmental factors. Reliable mechanisms aimed at forming students’ basic environmental awareness are presented. It is emphasized that improving each of these mechanisms requires integrating school-based ecological education, family upbringing, folk pedagogy, community education, and the most beautiful traditions characteristic of national values. The article also discusses shaping a child’s positive attitude toward the environment, developing a conscious understanding of the role of natural elements in human life, and forming a broad and vivid perception of the world around them.
