In this article, I analyze the impact of the Internet and social networks on the mother tongue. On the one hand, social media provides opportunities to distribute books and scientific content in the native language. On the other hand, informal communication weakens spelling norms and literary style. I believe that preserving the mother tongue in the digital age is the responsibility of every individual
