Abstract

This article provides a historical and legal analysis of the formation and development of the theoretical and legal foundations of victimological prevention of offences. It examines ancient customary norms, the Avesta, Sharia rules, Temur’s Code, foreign victimological doctrines, and the development of victimological prevention in the legislation of Uzbekistan during the years of independence. The authors substantiate that protecting victims’ rights, compensating for harm, and preventing victimization are important areas of victimological prevention.
