This article examines the psychological nature of procrastination — the conscious postponement of necessary tasks despite awareness of potential negative consequences. The paper explores the underlying causes of procrastination, including its connection to perfectionism, weak self-regulation, and emotional avoidance. It further analyzes the impact of procrastination on students' academic performance and discusses practical strategies for overcoming this behavioral pattern, drawing on findings from local psychological research.
