Ushbu maqolada zamonaviy yuridik amaliyotda nizolarni muqobil hal etishning eng samarali usullaridan biri — Garvard metodining prinsipiallashtirilgan muzokaralar (principled negotiation) tizimi tahlil qilinadi. Muallif an’anaviy pozitsion savdo-sotiq va agressiv muzokara usullarining kamchiliklarini ochib berib, ularga muqobil ravishda odamlarni muammodan ajratish, manfaatlarga e’tibor qaratish, o’zaro manfaatli variantlarni izlash va obyektiv mezonlarga tayanish kabi fundamental prinsiplarni taklif etadi. Shuningdek, maqolada yuridik muzokaralarning muvaffaqiyatini ta’minlovchi BATNA (kelishuvga erishilmagan taqdirdagi eng yaxshi alternativ) instituti va uning iqtisodiy, fuqarolik va oilaviy nizolarda ahamiyati batafsil yoritilgan.
