This article analyzes the policy of political repression carried out in the USSR, in particular in Uzbekistan, in 1917-1939, its legal and organizational mechanisms, and its tragic impact on human fate. The study covers the activities of the VChK-GPU-OGPU-NKVD bodies, the scale of repression during the "Great Purge", the "troika" system, false accusations and extrajudicial punishments based on archival materials. The socio-psychological consequences of repression are also shown through the fate of individuals such as Ashur Bozorov and Burkhon Khakimov. The results of the study indicate that the Stalinist policy of repression, completely ignoring legal norms, carried out large-scale terror against various segments of society.References
