THE IMPORTANCE OF DENTAL PULP IN HUMAN HEALTH AND ADVANCES IN TREATMENT TECHNOLOGIES
Аннотация
Dental pulp is a vital connective tissue located at the core of every tooth, playing an essential role in tooth vitality, sensory perception, and overall oral health. Composed of blood vessels, nerves, fibroblasts, and odontoblasts, it ensures the nourishment and defense of dentin and contributes significantly to the tooth’s structural integrity. Beyond local functions, the dental pulp has systemic importance, as infections originating within it can lead to broader health complications if untreated. Advances in medical science have provided new insights into the biological and therapeutic roles of the dental pulp, emphasizing its relevance in both preventive and restorative dentistry. Traditional treatments, such as root canal therapy, have long been the standard for addressing pulp-related diseases, but modern regenerative technologies are now opening new horizons. Stem cell research, pulp regeneration techniques, biomaterials, and minimally invasive approaches aim not only to treat pathology but also to preserve pulp vitality whenever possible. This article explores the importance of dental pulp in maintaining oral health, reviews the latest scientific findings, and evaluates innovative treatment methods. By integrating clinical dentistry with regenerative medicine, future therapeutic approaches may revolutionize pulp preservation and management, significantly improving patient outcomes
