ROLE OF MULTIPARAMETRIC ULTRASOUND EXAMINATION IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF CHRONIC PANCREATITIS

Chronic pancreatitis is a progressive inflammatory-degenerative disease of the pancreas characterized by irreversible morphological changes, including fibrosis, parenchymal atrophy, and ductal system impairment. In recent years, there has been a steady increase in the incidence of the disease associated with the growing influence of risk factors such as alcohol abuse, unhealthy diet, and metabolic disorders. According to epidemiological studies, chronic pancreatitis is diagnosed in 30–50 individuals per 100 population, while the proportion of complicated forms reaches 20–30%.
