Tension-type headache (TTH) is one of the most frequently encountered forms of primary cephalalgia in adolescents. Despite its relatively benign course, frequent episodes of TTH can significantly reduce quality of life, cause anxiety disorders, and hinder the learning process. This article reviews the epidemiology, clinical and neurological characteristics, pathogenetic aspects, diagnostic approaches, and modern principles of therapy for TTH in adolescents.
