Age-related anatomical changes of the nasolacrimal duct and the middle nasal meatus significantly affect tear outflow disorders, the development of chronic dacryocystitis, stenosis of the lacrimal drainage pathways, and the effectiveness of surgical treatment. The aim of the study was to investigate age-related anatomical and morphological features of the relationship between the nasolacrimal duct and the middle nasal meatus, to determine their influence on the development of lacrimal system pathology, and to assess the significance of the obtained data in selecting surgical treatment tactics. A prospective clinical-anatomical study was conducted on 150 patients aged 18 to 80 years examined in the ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology departments of a multidisciplinary hospital in Fergana. The frequency of chronic tear drainage disorders increased from 8.0% in the young age group to 42.0% in patients over 60 years of age (p<0.001). A strong positive correlation was found between patient age and the frequency of nasolacrimal duct stenosis (r=0.72).
