Abstract

Cicatricial stenosis of the trachea is a serious medical condition characterized by the narrowing of the tracheal lumen due to scar tissue formation, resulting in respiratory difficulties. These stenoses may develop due to various factors, including trauma, surgical interventions, and chronic inflammatory processes. Diagnosis involves visualization techniques such as bronchoscopy and computed tomography. Treatment options range from conservative management to surgical interventions. Understanding the underlying causes and mechanisms of cicatricial stenosis is crucial for effective treatment and improving patients' quality of life.
