TASK-BASED LANGUAGE TEACHING AS AN EFFECTIVE APPROACH TO ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING

Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) is a learner-centered approach that emphasizes the use of authentic language through meaningful and purposeful tasks. This article examines the effectiveness of Task-Based Language Teaching in English language learning and highlights its role in developing learners’ communicative competence. Unlike traditional approaches that primarily focus on grammar rules and memorization, TBLT encourages students to use English in realistic situations, allowing them to enhance their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through active participation. The study discusses how task-based activities can increase learners’ motivation, confidence, interaction, and ability to use language effectively in real-life contexts. It also considers the role of teachers in designing appropriate tasks and creating a supportive learning environment. The findings suggest that TBLT can make English language learning more engaging, interactive, and meaningful while promoting learner autonomy and practical communication skills. Therefore, Task-Based Language Teaching can be considered an effective strategy to enhancing the overall quality of English language learning.
