This thesis article discusses the scientific and theoretical foundations for studying paremiological units with bionymic components. It analyzes the linguistic nature of paremiological units and their stability, imagery, generalizing function and ability to preserve cultural information. Special attention is paid to the role of zoonymic and phytonymic components in creating symbolic, evaluative and cognitive meanings in proverbs, sayings and other paremiological units. The study argues that bionymic paremiological units should be examined through structural, semantic, comparative-typological and linguocultural approaches.References
