Mazkur maqola iqlim o‘zgarishi va xalqaro inson huquqlari huquqi o‘rtasidagi bog‘liqlikni xalqaro-huquqiy nuqtai nazardan tahlil etishga qaratilgan. Tadqiqotda iqlim o‘zgarishining hayot, sog‘liq, oziq-ovqat, suv va madaniyat kabi fundamental huquqlarga ta‘siri o‘rganilgan hamda mavjud xalqaro shartnomalar doirasida davlatlarning huquqiy majburiyatlari tavsiflab berilgan. Huquqiy tahlil, qiyosiy va tizimli tahlil metodlaridan foydalanilgan holda, 1966-yilgi Fuqarolik va siyosiy huquqlar to‘g‘risidagi xalqaro pakt (ICCPR), Iqtisodiy, ijtimoiy va madaniy huquqlar to‘g‘risidagi xalqaro pakt (ICESCR) va 2015 yilgi Parij bitimi kabi asosiy xalqaro hujjatlar birlamchi manba sifatida tahlil qilingan.
