Abstract

This article provides a comparative linguistic analysis of gender representation in the lexicons of Uzbek and German. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study examines gendered nouns, adjectives, and the rise of gender-neutral terms in both languages. The findings reveal that German's grammatical gender system emphasizes binary distinctions, potentially reinforcing gender roles, whereas Uzbek displays a largely gender-neutral lexicon, especially in professional and public discourse. This contrast underscores the influence of linguistic structures on cultural perceptions of gender and supports the theory of linguistic relativity. The paper concludes by highlighting implications for inclusive language policies and sociolinguistic education.
