Tezisda global iqlim o‘zgarishining tabiatga ko‘rsatayotgan asosiy ta’sirlari ilmiy-ekologik nuqtayi nazardan tahlil qilinadi. Haroratning oshishi, muzliklarning qisqarishi, dengiz sathining ko‘tarilishi, yog‘ingarchilik rejimining izdan chiqishi, qurg‘oqchilik, cho‘llanish, biologik xilma-xillikning kamayishi va ekotizimlar barqarorligining zaiflashuvi asosiy oqibatlar sifatida yoritiladi. Iqlim o‘zgarishi faqat atmosfera hodisasi emas, balki suv, tuproq, o‘simlik, hayvonot dunyosi va inson hayoti bilan chambarchas bog‘liq global ekologik jarayon sifatida baholanadi.
