Abstract

This article analyzes the artistic representation of the historical and social atmosphere of the period through the psychological state of the characters in the epic poem Nido. Particular attention is paid to the impact of war on human life and, especially, on the inner world of the individual. The study examines the character’s emotional experiences, suffering, memories, and psychological conflicts as important means of representing the historical atmosphere of the period. Special emphasis is placed on the interaction between individual psychology and the historical-social environment, demonstrating how personal experiences reveal the complex social and moral landscape of the era. The poetic functions of such images and motifs as memory, suffering, separation, war, mother, child, and homeland in revealing the character’s inner world and expressing the spirit of the period are also examined. The study argues that the artistic integrity of the historical atmosphere in Nido is created not merely through the direct narration of historical events, but primarily through their psychological resonance within the human consciousness.
