Ushbu maqolada tarixiy va madaniy meros obyektlarini tashkil etuvchi materiallarning degradatsiya jarayonlari hamda ularni konservatsiya qilishning ilmiy-uslubiy asoslari yoritib berilgan. Tadqiqot davomida tarixiy materiallarning fizik, kimyoviy va biologik omillar ta’sirida yemirilish mexanizmlari tahlil qilinib, degradatsiya jarayonlarini aniqlash va baholashda qo‘llaniladigan zamonaviy diagnostika usullari ko‘rib chiqilgan. Shuningdek, konservatsiya tamoyillari, an’anaviy va innovatsion usullar, xalqaro me’yorlar asosida tarixiy materiallarni saqlashning samarali yo‘llari yoritilgan. Maqolada amaliy tajriba va ilmiy tadqiqotlar tahlili asosida konservatsiya strategiyasini ishlab chiqishning ahamiyati asoslab berilgan.
