This article examines the threats posed to Muslim society by the denial and rejection of Sunni legal sects (madhhabs), emphasizing the crucial role that jurisprudential diversity plays in preserving the unity, stability, and intellectual richness of the Islamic tradition. The study explores the historical development of the four major Sunni schools of law—Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi‘i, and Hanbali—and analyzes their contributions to the formation of Islamic legal thought, religious practice, and social cohesion throughout the Muslim world. Through a historical and analytical approach, the research investigates the emergence of Sunni jurisprudence, its methodological foundations, and its significance in addressing the legal and social needs of Muslim communities across different geographical and cultural contexts.
