Abstract

This study explores the national-cultural specificity of associative portraits in linguistics, focusing on how linguistic associations reflect collective consciousness and cultural identity. Language, as both a means of communication and a repository of cultural heritage, preserves national traditions, values, and social practices. The research examines the associative responses of different linguistic communities to the stimulus word “monument,” using data from the Slavic Associative Dictionary. Comparative analysis reveals both universal and culturally specific associations across Russian, Belarusian, Bulgarian, and Ukrainian speakers, where notions of memory, national heroes, and symbolic artifacts dominate
