Abstract

The translation of metaphors in English fiction involves navigating linguistic and cultural complexities. This study investigates the key issues translators face when attempting to preserve the meaning and stylistic significance of metaphors in the target language. Specific examples demonstrate how cultural barriers, semantic shifts, and stylistic alterations influence the outcome of translation. The paper also explores effective strategies for overcoming these challenges, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the metaphor's integrity to ensure the translated work resonates with its intended audience.
