Ushbu tezisda zamonaviy Amerika yozuvchisi Joyce Carol Oatesning asarlarida tragik dunyoqarashning shakllanish jarayoni tahlil qilinadi. Tadqiqotning asosiy maqsadi yozuvchining ilk romanlarida tragik ongning ijtimoiy, psixologik va falsafiy omillar asosida qanday vujudga kelganini aniqlashdan iborat.
