COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF METAPHORICAL EXPRESSIONS IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK TEXTS

Main Article Content

Abstract:

This article explores the use of metaphorical expressions in English and Uzbek texts, highlighting similarities and differences shaped by cultural, cognitive, and linguistic factors. Metaphors in English often reflect individualism, abstract thinking, and modern societal values, while Uzbek metaphors draw on folklore, moral principles, and natural imagery. By analyzing examples from literature, media, and everyday speech, the study demonstrates how language and culture influence metaphorical expression. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of cross-linguistic metaphor usage and its implications for translation and intercultural communication.
