Abstrak

Listening comprehension is one of the most important skills for advanced English learners, yet many students still experience difficulties in understanding authentic spoken English. In recent years, podcasts have become a popular educational tool due to their accessibility, variety of topics, and exposure to real-life language use. This article examines the role of podcasts in improving the listening comprehension skills of advanced English learners. It discusses the main advantages of podcast-based learning, including increased exposure to natural speech, vocabulary enrichment, and familiarity with different accents and speaking styles. The article also highlights several challenges learners may face when using podcasts and suggests practical strategies for effective listening practice. The findings indicate that regular engagement with podcasts can significantly enhance learners’ listening abilities, promote autonomous learning, and increase confidence in understanding spoken English in real-life situations.
