This article examines the formation of the philosophy of absurdism, its main ideas, and its place in twentieth-century literature. The primary aim of the study is to explore the theoretical foundations of absurdism and reveal its artistic expression through Albert Camus’s novel The Stranger. The research employs literary-analytical and comparative methods. The findings show that the protagonist, Meursault, serves as a vivid embodiment of the absurd individual, while his attitude toward social norms and his views on life and death reflect the fundamental principles of absurdism. Furthermore, the novel artistically portrays the conflict between humanity’s search for meaning and the indifference of the world. The results highlight the significance of Camus’s works in understanding the philosophy of absurdism and demonstrate the unique place of The Stranger in world literature.References
