Аннотация

This article discusses effective methods for teaching zero, first, and second conditionals in English language instruction. Conditional sentences are an important part of English grammar because they help learners express real facts, possible future situations, and imaginary or unreal ideas. However, many English language learners experience difficulties in distinguishing between different conditional structures and their meanings. Learners often confuse verb tenses and misuse conditional forms in speaking and writing. The article explains the grammatical and semantic differences between zero, first, and second conditionals and identifies common learner problems such as tense confusion, direct translation from the native language, and insufficient contextual practice. Furthermore, it presents several teaching strategies including contextual learning, communicative activities, visual presentation, guided practice, and task-based learning. The study emphasizes that grammar teaching becomes more effective when learners practice conditionals through meaningful communication and real-life situations rather than memorizing isolated rules.
