This article explores the comparative poetics of the concepts of “Homeland,” “Throne,” and “Justice” as manifested in the texts of two prominent representatives of Early Modern Eastern and Western classical literature and political thought — Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur and James VI and I, King of Scotland and England. Although the creative legacies of these two ruler-authors were shaped within different cultural, religious, political, and geographical contexts — the Islamic Eastern world and Christian-Protestant Europe — the article reveals that these concepts acquire universal typological commonalities in their artistic-aesthetic and philosophical thought. The study analyzes Babur’s lyrical heritage and Baburnama, as well as James I’s political treatises, Basilikon Doron and The True Law of Free Monarchies, employing methods of textual studies, linguocultural analysis, and comparative literary studies.References
