This article highlights the role and importance of the historical cities of Uzbekistan — Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Shahrisabz in international tourism. Since these historical cities were located at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, they have long served as important centers of trade, culture, science, and the exchange of civilizations. The article analyzes historical and architectural monuments, sites included in the World Heritage List of UNESCO, as well as the role of national cultural heritage in attracting foreign tourists. It is noted that these factors contribute to the formation of Uzbekistan’s tourism brand at the international level. The historical cities of Uzbekistan are considered an important factor in enhancing the country’s image in the international tourism market, while their preservation and promotion are regarded as one of the main directions of sustainable tourism development.References
