Abstract

The profound knowledge, genius, and immortal works in various fields of science of Az-Zamakhshari brought him great fame throughout the Muslim East during his lifetime. Scholars and contemporaries respectfully honored him with such prestigious titles as “Ustadh al-‘Arab wa al-‘Ajam” (“Teacher of the Arabs and non-Arabs”) and “Fakhr Khwarazm” (“The Pride of Khwarazm”).Due to his enormous contribution to the development of world civilization, particularly to Arabic grammar, he continues to be remembered with deep respect by prominent scholars, poets, writers, and historians.This article provides detailed information about the life of Az-Zamakhshari and his significant contributions to science and scholarship.
