Abstract

This article examines effective strategies for teaching reading through authentic materials in academic lyceums. It analyzes the pedagogical value of newspapers, magazine articles, websites, blogs, advertisements, interviews, brochures, and literary extracts in developing reading competence. Furthermore, the study explores pre-reading, while-reading, and post-reading activities, vocabulary support techniques, collaborative learning, digital technologies, and differentiated instruction. The analysis demonstrates that authentic materials significantly improve learners' comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, reading fluency, critical thinking, and motivation when they are selected according to learners' language proficiency and educational needs. The article concludes that systematic integration of authentic materials creates a learner-centered environment that prepares students for real-life communication and lifelong learning.
