Abstract

Timely diagnosis of pneumonia is based on the results of a detailed and consistent analysis of clinical, anamnestic and radiological data. The main antibiotics used for the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia in children are beta-lactam antibiotics, including protected and cephalosporins, and macrolides. In the overwhelming majority of cases, there was the use of parenteral forms of III generation cephalosporins. The article outlines the basic principles of rational antibiotic therapy of community-acquired pneumonia in pediatric practice. Algorithms for the starting choice of antibiotics are proposed. The dosing regimens of antibiotics recommended for the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia are presented.
