Topical issues of primary prevention of death in patients with postinfarction cardiosclerosis with ventricular arrhythmias (VA) are considered. An overview of all the main clinical studies devoted to the study of the possibilities of various antiarrhythmic drugs in the prevention of death in patients with VA is presented. It is emphasized that in patients with organic heart diseases and VA, only beta-blockers and amiodarone can lead to a decrease in mortality, while the use of other drugs either does not affect mortality, or even increases mortality, mainly due to the arrhythmogenic effect. The data of recent clinical studies on the effectiveness of the use of cardioverter-defibrillators in this category of patients are presented. It has been shown that the use of cardioverter-defibrillators in comparison with drug therapy is more effective in preventing deaths.Downloads
