This article examines the phenomenon of sound alternations as a fundamental component of phonological and morphological systems in human language. It analyzes how articulatory processes, phonological rules, stress patterns, historical developments, and sociolinguistic factors contribute to systematic changes in the pronunciation of morphemes. The study highlights the role of assimilation, vowel and consonant shifts, morphophonemic processes, and prosodic influences in shaping alternation patterns. The results show that sound alternations are not random but follow predictable linguistic principles that ensure clarity, efficiency, and structural harmony. The research provides a comprehensive theoretical and analytical overview of sound alternations and emphasizes their importance in understanding language structure and development.Downloads
