The focus is on fundamental principles in the areas of rivers and maritime law. International rivers are analyzed from the point of view of territorial sovereignty and balance of interstate interests, and their navigation and resource use behavior are considered. It also covers the principles of balance between the territorial sea, the separate economic zone, the legal status of the continental shelf and archipelago waters, sovereign rights and freedoms of other states. This study pays special attention to the rational use of water and marine resources and prevention of transboundary damage in accordance with international law.
