Abstract

This article provides a theoretical analysis of the study of emotional intelligence in modern psychological literature and its specific characteristics during adolescence. The article highlights the main models of the phenomenon of emotional intelligence (J. Mayer, P. Salovey, D. Goleman, R. Bar-On) and their role in personality formation. It also substantiates the importance of a high level of empathy and emotional reflection in the process of emotional instability, crisis situations, and social adaptation during adolescence. In conclusion, recommendations are provided regarding the necessity of creating special psychological and pedagogical conditions for the systematic development of adolescent emotional intelligence.
