CIVIL LEGISLATION IN THE DIGITAL AGE: SOME REFLECTIONS

Abstract
Drawing on the author's own observations and analysis, this article discusses trends in the development of civil legislation in the digital age. The purpose of the research is to examine the state of civil-law regulation of electronic transactions, smart contracts, digital property, and remote identification, and to offer reflections on their further development. The subject of the research is the civil legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, foreign experience, and scientific-theoretical approaches. Comparative-legal, systemic-structural, and formal-legal methods were applied. The author reflects on the consistent recognition of the concepts of "digital property" and "smart contract" in legislation, on clarifying the legal force of transactions concluded in electronic form, and on expanding opportunities for online resolution of civil disputes. The results may be used in research, law-enforcement practice, and the educational process.
