THE PRINCIPLE OF SELF-GOVERNMENT AND INDEPENDENCE IN THE LAWYER: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE EXPERIENCE OF FOREIGN COUNTRIES

This article examines the principles of independence and self-governance of the legal profession through a conceptual and comparative legal analysis. The study compares the organizational and legal models of bar associations in Germany, France, and several CIS countries, highlighting their regulatory frameworks and institutional mechanisms. Particular attention is devoted to academic approaches to the concept of self-governance in the legal profession, while the author’s theoretical position is also substantiated. Based on the findings, the article proposes recommendations aimed at improving the institution of advocacy and strengthening the mechanisms of independence and self-governance in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
