Personal Data Policy
This document applies to all scholarly journals and conference proceedings published by Innovative Academy RSC, including this publication.
This policy sets out how Innovative Academy RSC (the Operator) processes personal data and is based on the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan of 2 July 2019 No. ZRU-547 "On Personal Data".
Operator details: Innovative Academy RSC, TIN: 308320617, publishing certificate: 074338, address: 120/30 Amir Temur Avenue, Tashkent 100017, Uzbekistan.
1. Data we collect
- Author and reviewer data: full name; e-mail address; telephone number; affiliation (organisation) and position; academic degree and title; ORCID iD; country and city.
- Account data: username, cryptographic hash of the password, system role, correspondence history.
- Technical data: IP address, general browser and device information, page request timestamps (in server logs).
2. Purposes and legal bases
- Running the publishing process — receiving the manuscript, peer review, editing, publication, DOI registration and deposit with indexing services. Legal basis: performance of the contract set out in the Public Offer.
- Openness of the scholarly record — the author's name, affiliation, academic degree, ORCID iD and (where the author supplies it) e-mail address are published together with the article: this is inherent to scholarly publication and to academic attribution.
- Compliance with statutory duties — accounting and tax reporting.
- Informational mailings (new issues, calls for papers) — only on the basis of separate, voluntary consent. Declining has no effect on the publishing process; you may unsubscribe at any time via the link in the message or by writing to info@in-academy.uz.
3. Recipients of data
The Operator does not sell personal data. Within the technical necessity of the publishing process, the following categories of recipients receive only the bibliographic metadata of the published article (authors, title, abstract, keywords, affiliation, ORCID, DOI):
- Zenodo (CERN, Switzerland) and DataCite (Germany) — DOI registration and long-term archiving;
- indexing and aggregation services: Google Scholar, OpenAlex, BASE, CORE, OpenAIRE, ResearchBib, CyberLeninka, InLibrary, EuroPub;
- the plagiarism screening service (Copyleaks) — the manuscript text for checking;
- the hosting provider — within technical maintenance of the server.
Cross-border transfer. The metadata listed above is transferred to services abroad on the basis of the author's consent to open publication. Unpublished manuscripts, correspondence, account data and payment data are not transferred abroad.
4. Location of the database
Personal data of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan is processed and stored using technical facilities located within the Republic of Uzbekistan. Only the open publication metadata described in clause 3 leaves the country.
5. Retention periods
- Author data connected with a published article — indefinitely, as it forms part of the permanent scholarly record.
- Editorial correspondence on rejected or withdrawn manuscripts — 5 years.
- Accounting records — for the period required by law.
- Mailing-list data — until the subscription is withdrawn.
6. Your rights
You have the right to obtain information about your personal data, to have it corrected, blocked or erased, and to withdraw your consent. Contact: info@in-academy.uz (subject line "Personal data"). Requests are answered within 10 working days.
After consent is withdrawn, the Operator continues processing only on the grounds provided by law (including accounting and the integrity of the scholarly record). A published article and its DOI cannot be withdrawn; in such cases the retraction procedure applies.
7. Security measures
The Operator applies organisational and technical safeguards against unauthorised access: encrypted connections (HTTPS), role-based access control, password hashing, regular backups and restricted server access.
8. How consent is given
Consent is given by ticking the relevant box when registering on the site or submitting a manuscript. A short consent statement appears on the submission page; the full terms are set out in this document.
Note: references to legislation should be verified against the current wording during legal review.
