ANATOMICAL VARIATIONS OF THE MANDIBULAR CANAL AND MENTAL FORAMEN

Main Article Content

Аннотация:

Anatomical variations of the mandibular canal and mental foramen are crucial factors in dental and maxillofacial practice, as they directly influence the safety and precision of various surgical interventions. The mandibular canal, which contains the inferior alveolar nerve and accompanying blood vessels, extends from the mandibular foramen to the mental foramen. Variations in its course or structure can increase the risk of complications during procedures such as dental implant placement, extraction of impacted teeth, and orthognathic surgeries.
