THE ROLE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN PREDICTING COMPLICATIONS AFTER CARDIAC SURGERY

In modern conditions, where the database of patients, monitoring systems, and electronic medical records are expanding, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) methods are becoming powerful tools for improving the accuracy of postoperative complication predictions in cardiac surgery. This article reviews the main AI approaches applied to predicting complications (such as acute kidney injury, arrhythmias, bleeding, neurological events, etc.), discusses the advantages and limitations of such models, and outlines the prospects for integrating AI into clinical cardiac surgery practice. Conclusions are also made regarding the key factors determining the success of these models and recommendations are provided for further development of the field.
