Remote sensing has matured from a niche data-collection technique into a cornerstone of Earth-system science, environmental management and socio-economic planning. ASSESSING SOIL FORMATION, DEGRADATION, AND RESTORATION IN THE JIZZAKH REGION USING GEOINFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

This article examines the characteristics of the soil cover in the Jizzakh region, including its formation, major environmental issues, and modern methods of study and monitoring using geoinformation technologies (GIS). The processes of soil formation influenced by climate, relief, and anthropogenic factors, as well as the impact of irrigation systems on soil composition, are described. Special attention is paid to methods of soil mapping and spatial data analysis, which allow for a more accurate assessment of soil degradation and the development of effective soil restoration measures. The study is based on an analysis of scientific sources, remote sensing data, and GIS cartography.

LINEAMENT TECTONICS AND MINERALIZATION OF THE HISSAR MOUNTAINS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF SANGARDAK AND HARKUSH FIELD)

This article presents the results of cosmogeological studies of the territory of Southern Uzbekistan on a scale of 1:100,000. According to the established geological task, the interpretation of remote sensing materials was carried out using various processing methods for lineament analysis and mineral indices, taking into account previously carried out work. Mineralization zones and, accordingly, favorable positions have been identified based on the ratio of satellite image channels and changes in the spectral curves of minerals.

MONITORING OF GASEOUS EMISSIONS FROM INDUSTRIAL ENTERPRISES INTO THE ATMOSPHERE: TECHNOLOGIES, STANDARDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY APPROACHES

Industrial enterprises significantly contribute to atmospheric air pollution through continuous emissions of hazardous gases such as NOₓ, SO₂, CO, VOCs, and particulate matter. Deterioration of air quality poses serious environmental and public health challenges, especially in regions with dense industrial activities. Traditional periodic monitoring methods often result in delayed detection of emission-limit exceedances, limiting the effectiveness of environmental supervision. This study aims to analyze contemporary emission monitoring technologies and assess their potential for strengthening environmental safety at industrial facilities in Uzbekistan. A systematic review of international and national regulatory frameworks was performed along with evaluation of advanced monitoring solutions, including Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS), IoT-enabled smart sensor networks, satellite-based remote sensing, and artificial intelligence–supported data analytics.

Xususiyatlarni chiqarish (feature extraction) tasvirlarni tahlil qilish va kompyuter ko‘rishi sohalarida asosiy bosqich hisoblanadi, chunki bu vizual ma’lumotlarni samarali ifodalash va tushunishga imkon beradi. Gabor filtrlari inson ko‘rish tizimidan ilhomlanib ishlab chiqilgan bo‘lib, tasvirlardagi tekstura, fazoviy chastota va orientatsiya ma’lumotlarini olish uchun kuchli vosita hisoblanadi. Ushbu maqolada ko‘p o‘lchamli va ko‘p yo‘nalishli Gabor filtrlari yordamida xususiyatlarni chiqarish algoritmi batafsil ishlab chiqiladi. ASSESSMENT OF DEGRADATION IN MOUNTAIN AND FOOTHILL AREAS USING GIS TECHNOLOGIES IN PARKENT DISTRICT, UZBEKISTAN

In today's world, analyzing the soils of mountain and foothill regions and examining degradation processes using remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) data analysis is essential. These techniques serve as powerful tools for land-use planning, including assessments of land cover, forests, and water resources. This study investigates land cover changes and degradation processes in the mountainous and foothill regions of the Tashkent region, situated in the western part of the eastern Tien Shan mountains. Despite substantial precipitation in the area due to its climate, human encroachment has led to the misuse of pastures, causing significant land use and cover changes. Vacant land and sparse forests have been converted into open land, exacerbating soil degradation due to rainfall. GIS technologies play a crucial role in monitoring these changes and formulating effective strategies for land management.
