This article analyzes the concepts of “Heaven” and “Hell” in the English language from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. The aim of the research is to identify the cognitive structure, metaphorical models, and cultural as well as moral connotations of these concepts in human cognition. The concept of “Heaven” represents goodness, light, reward, and tranquility in human thought and is associated with such semantic elements as light, purity, peace, and eternity. It is modeled through metaphors of height (up), light, and perfection. Expressions such as “heavenly voice”, “heaven on earth”, and “gates of heaven” convey meanings of divinity and serenity.
